How does it feel to want to die?

Through the eyes of a 19th century French general who committed suicide in Ixelles cemetery at the grave of his lover,

I imagined the answer to this question.

We all die but only a few people choose the time and the place.

I am fascinated by the intensity of emotion in this decision, but also in its duration, which carries the person who makes it to the point of execution and into this unknown realm about which we know nothing. My work explores the mystery of this journey and imagines the thoughts of those who choose death.
