‘Mijn Brussel’ by Johan Verminnen is a song filled with notions of nostalgia and a feeling of belonging to a city that continuously changes. Once I heard this song, I found myself being guided around the city by the text; shifting my gaze and attention as I walked up and down the streets of Brussels.

With the poem and my own experiences in the back of my mind, I observed the city and tried to capture moments of everyday life to channel the essence of Brussels’ ever-changing nature.
