Twice Beyond

Twice Beyond explores the possibilities of using photography as a therapeutic mirror capable of reflecting and acknowledging unexplored realms of the unconscious mind. The work introduces themes such as the fragmentation of identity and self-image, consequences of prolonged episodes of isolation and disconnection from the self.

By visually exploring a world that appears to be backward, I am attempting to access a mirrored reality: my own subconscious, which feels like a parallel dimension, a foreign geography where shapes are suspended in their primitive form. The work evokes a dreamlike scenario where symbolic elements interact on what appears to be a metaphysical stage. In this dream, two almost identical souls seem to be wandering beyond a mirror, looking for one another. Each one of them is lost in a different dimension. There they get to explore their own unique identity, hoping to be reunited again after long moments of separation.
