How are Brussels’ various socio-economic and cultural backgrounds revealed in its clothing stores?

Walking through the city I noticed the type and budget of stores varies widely between neighborhoods, hinting at a socio-economic segregation which separates different parts of the city. This sparked me to set up a collaboration to explore and highlight these differences. With the question ‘’Could you style me?’’ I walked into stores across Brussels, giving total freedom to the employee to choose how to dress me and asked them to take a picture of us together. Through these collaborations I got to connect with the people who’d helped me, see different versions of myself and discovered how Brussels (re)presents itself.
